Dennis Hogan loses to judges' decision
Dennis Hogan lost out by a majority decision to Mexican Jaime Munguia in Monterrey, Mexico, in the early hours of this morning, writes Brian Byrne.
The Kilcullen man now resident in Australia was fighting for the WBO Super Welterweight title, and there are reports that the decision was controversial and many thought the Irishman had earned at least a draw.
The decision after 12 rounds was 115-113, 116-112 and 114-114.
Dennis is pictured above on right with Kilcullen fan and friend Martin Burke before the fight.
(NOTE: I have been taken to task for not knowing Martin is Dennis's uncle. Sorry, I didn't know. Also, Monterrey is in Mexico, not California, which I should have known.)
