Communications mast erected today
The mast is 21 metres high, and the original application by Three Ireland Services (Hutchison) Ltd to Kildare County Council was refused in October 2017.
An appeal to An Bord Pleanála overturned the Council's decision in June of last year. The Bord said it considered a number of issues during consideration of the appeal, including the national strategy regarding the improvement of mobile communications services.
The judgement said the mast would not seriously injure the amenities of property in the vicinity, and would, therefore, be in accordance with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area.
The contractor for the erection and commissioning of the mast and its related equipment is Clane-based Glenline Telecoms.
