Tree planting next week
The planting of 700 trees to mark Kilcullen 700 will take place from 11am on Saturday 6 April, writes Brian Byrne.
The trees have been supplied by the Tree Council of Ireland to Kilcullen Community Action, and are being planted near the Liffey beyond the St Brigid's Well end of the Valley.
Everyone is welcome to go along between 11am-2pm to take part in the occasion, and plant some of the trees. It is a family-friendly event, and while it would be helpful if some people brought along spades, it isn't essential as there will be some available.
