New litter bins installed
The three new litter bins promised by Kildare County Council have been installed at locations on Main Street, writes Brian Byrne.
One of the bins, at the bus stop outside the Applegreen forecourt, incorporates a recycling element as well as a notice that it is suitable for bagged dog waste.
The other locations for more standard bins are outside the Kilcullen Family Practice clinic, and outside Bank of Ireland opposite the market square.
Welcoming them, a member of Kilcullen Tidy Towns said the test will be how often they are emptied by the Council, especially at weekends when they are more likely to be full and excess litter gets scattered around.
