Bug Hotel relocated

In a carefully-managed operation the Bug Hotel in the Valley has been moved from its original location (above) to a new one, to allow the site be used for The Gilly House in the Fairy Trail to be opened next week, writes Brian Byrne.

According to Ray Kelly of Kilcullen Community Action, the move was carried out successfully and the 'bugs are very happy' in the new location.

"There are quite a lot of bugs in residence," he told the recent KCA meeting.

The 'Hotel' was built two years ago and is designed to encourage the kind of biodiversity that keeps an environment healthy, as well as providing a point of education and interest for children and adults alike.

The Fairy Trail is being opened on Saturday next, 16 March, at 2.30pm, in preparation for which Antoinette Buckley of KCA was busy painting the seats in the Valley this morning.
