Meeting on Kilcullen 700 tonight

A reminder that a public meeting tonight, Monday, will provide an update on the Kilcullen 700 celebrations, writes Brian Byrne. Everyone is welcome to the meeting, which will be in the Town Hall at 8pm.

The most recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action discussed several elements of the programme so far, including the proposed St Patrick's Day Parade. Noel Clare confirmed plans for various nationalities living in Kilcullen to take part under their national banners and said there were a number already signed up for this.

Possibilities for the design of a KCA float were suggested in the course of the discussion. These centred around an idea for a representation of a bridge and river which would be mounted on a lorry. Litter would also feature, but on the positive basis that it has reduced.

An update on plans for 'Kilcullen 700' signs for the bridge was given, and the meeting heard that these still had to be designed and printed. Brackets for the poles on the other side of the bridge are also being ordered.
