KCC sets up Community Stories page
A new Facebook page to highlight community stories across the county has been set up by Kildare County Council, writes Brian Byrne.
Kildare Community Stories is being managed by the Council's Community & Cultural Section, which supports a wide range of important community work in Kildare.
The organisers of the initiative are Sonya Kavanagh, Director of Services for Economic, Community & Cultural Development; Ann Marie Conneely, acting Senior Executive Officer in the Community & Cultural Section; and Tracy Keogh who has worked for Kildare County Council for over 20 years. Tracy recently returned from a career break in Haiti, where she volunteered with a children's charity, and she will be writing the stories on the page.
One of the first stories on the page is a report on the Community & Cultural Section's Annual Awards event which took place in Maynooth University on Thursday, where 47 awards were presented across 12 categories, and included the Youth Endeavour Awards.
