Woodbine Books in Chaos today

Irish Book Week gets off with a buzz in Woodbine Books this afternoon with a live recording of an episode of the Chaos Theatre Podcast, writes Brian Byrne.

It will be happening from 4pm, with the episode reviewing Irish picture books and graphic novels aimed at children aged from 10 upwards and for Young Adult readers.

The Chaos Theatre Podcast is an audio programme produced every second week, with presenters Daire, Kelsey and Carolynn discussing entertainment, gaming and other subjects.

Other events organised by Woodbine for the week include a discussion panel in Fallons from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday next, featuring local authors Orla McAlinden, Hazel Gaynor, Maria MacDonald, Amy Gaffney and Lissa Oliver, and chaired by Jo Doyle.

Benji Bennett (author of Adam's Cloud books including Before You Sleep and Adam Saves the Seasons) will be in the shop at 2pm on 2 November for a reading and a chat followed by a book signing.

Author and Irish Book Week Ambassador Donal Ryan will be in conversation on Saturday 3 November at 2.30pm.
