Miscellany on Sunday on coming weekend

A reminder that Phenagh Bermingham's charity fundraiser Miscellany on Sunday is this coming Sunday, at the Bermingham family home in Mooretown, writes Brian Byrne.

The initiative sees friends and neighbours, well wishers and supporters gathering to perform songs, stories, poems and more besides. Proceeds of the event will be donated to Father John Bermingham's missionary work in Mozambique.

The list of those who will entertain is getting longer by the day. They include Roy Thompson, Dick Dunphy, John Martin, Monica Martin, Lugaidh O Mordhain, Ian Hennessy, Martin Heydon, Dorly O'Sullivan, Leah O'Sullivan, James Healy, and Michael O'Connell.

Others on the programme include Ivan Keatley, Hannah Bermingham, Stephen Nugent, Joe OConnor, Sabina and Esther Reddy, Majella Hickey, Julie Dunlop and her husband Stephen, and Charles Aniagyei.

Anyone else who wants to come along and sing or play is very welcome.

The people of Mozambique have experienced many hardships since they won their independence at the end of the colonial era and, if you'd like to make a small gesture to help them, you could do worse than supporting Phenagh's Miscellany on Sunday occasion.
