Noel is a food innovation national champion
Noel Lambe, whose speciality Shepherd's Pie, Steak and Kidney Pie, and Lamb Curry won gold in that last competition, won the Food Innovation Award at the Craft Butchers Gala Dinner in The K Club in Straffan on Sunday evening.
His entry was a Breakfast Roll with several traditional breakfast items baked into a pastry. While the judges felt it is still a work in progress, they were very taken with the concept. The key speaker at the event was Darina Allen.
In September, five gold medals were awarded to staff members in the Ready-to-Eat category in the Speciality Food Competition.
