Increased burglaries warning

A warning about an increase in burglaries has been issued by the Kildare Garda Division, writes Brian Byrne.

The alert is related to thefts from houses and sheds across the county in the last week.

An Garda say this is consistent with previous years, with darker evenings providing a way for burglars to spot unoccupied houses without lights on.

The advice is to leave lights on to deter such opportunistic crimes.
