Strong bookings for Christmas Fair in the square

Although it's still a little early for Christmas news, there are 23 stalls already booked for the 2018 Christmas Fair in the market square, writes Brian Byrne.

At the recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action, organiser Antoinette Buckley said there were probably a few more spaces available but it was essentially full.

The stalls booked for the 8 December event include food offerings from Nolans, Kalbarri, Creans, The Hideout, and Jane Russell. "We're working to ensure that each provides something different to the other," Antoinette told the meeting, adding that a DJ and face painter has also been booked, and there are discussions ongoing for live music.

A Santa's Grotto will be set up in the Heritage Centre on the day, and Santa has already agreed his availability. The event will also include the official switch on of the town's Christmas lights.

It is planned that the fair will run 9am-5pm ... 'maybe even a little later' according to Antoinette.
