Steiner School celebrating 30 years
The Kildare Steiner School is celebrating its 30th birthday today, Saturday 29 September, writes Brian Byrne.
The event involves an afternoon and evening gathering with stories song, food and dance.
Meantime, the school, located on the Dunlavin Road, is working towards providing a second level Steiner School to open in September 2019.
The school will be 'grounded in critical thinking, balanced with imagination and creativity'.
Experiential learning which allows topics such as science 'to come alive' will be a feature, as will core Steiner principles based on fostering inner strength and resilience along with empathy, compassion and community building.
A conference is planned for Newbridge Town Hall on Saturday 13 October to further this project, titled 'Secondary Education for a New Generation'. More details closer to the event.
