Kilcullen GAA Family Fun Day today

Kilcullen GAA Family Fun Day will be held today, Sunday 30 September, at 2pm (Main Pitch and Clubhouse) and there are lots of fun activities planned, writes Dara Clarke.

There is a GAA twist on ‘Ireland’s Fittest Family’ challenge, with the inaugural cup up for grabs for ‘Kilcullen’s Family Team’ challenge. A team can consist of up to six members and must include one adult.

There won’t be any ‘hanging tough’ but you can expect penalty shoot-outs, water bucket challenge and GAA basketball to suit all age groups.

To celebrate the successful season, there will be medal presentations to the U11s and younger (Football, Camogie and Hurling) and a chance for the children to cheer on their mentors in the sponsored Turbo Cycle race.

For Limerick/Hurling/Sports fans out there, there will be an auction of a Limerick jersey, hurl and sliothar signed especially for ‘the Rags’ by All Ireland winning Captain Declan Hannon.

Please spread the word about this fantastic opportunity to mark the year that Limerick brushed aside 45 years of history.

The winner of the furthest Poc Fada, will also receive a signed hurl and sliothar.

Other activities to look forward to include;

· Exhibition matches from our younger club members
· Giant GAA floss-off
· Long shot and Poc Fada
· Monster Raffle
· BBQ
· Cake Sale
· Guess the coffee beans

Thank-you to all the sponsors who have donated towards the day.

Following on from the Family Fun Day, there will be a Social Evening in O’Connell’s on Friday 5 October at 8pm, with DJ Curley in the house. So book the babysitters and put the date in the diary.

Everyone welcome to attend!
