Sponsor needed for 2019 Sarah Swaine Memorial Run

An appeal for a sponsor for the 2019 Sarah Swaine Memorial Run has been made by the principal organiser, Sarah's aunt Carrie Swayne, writes Brian Byrne.

The inaugural event in January of this year attracted 367 registrants and raised more than €5,000 for CanTeen, the charity that supports teenagers with cancer, providing trips to places around Ireland and abroad which help to give those involved a more normal teenage life.

Sarah Swaine passed away at the age of 19 on 7 January 2016, following a long battle with the disease.

Sponsorship of €2,500 is needed to pay for the medals for the event. The VAT content can be recovered by a VAT-registered company, and the sponsor's name will be on the medal ribbons.

"In addition, for the next run we will be producing a Facebook video which will promote the sponsor," Carrie says.
