Property owner directed to deal with 'unsightly' building
The owner of the Main Street property at the entrance to the Valley Park has been served with a notice under the Derelict Sites Act 1990, with instruction to repair and maintain the building and its curtilage, writes Brian Byrne.
In a notice fixed to the building, the Environmental Section of Kildare County Council says the owner must repair or replace windows and doors, that the exterior be cleaned 'to make good its unsightly appearance', and that the grounds be properly maintained in order to prevent unsightly growth of weeds.
The direction also orders the removal of all waste on the property, and that general maintenance be carried out to prevent the building falling derelict.
The owner has four weeks to provide the Council with proposals, and a further four weeks in which to carry the works out.
