Grant funding for church roof repairs
A sum of €25,000 has been allocated towards repairs to the roof of Kilcullen Parish Church from heritage grant funding, writes Brian Byrne.
Of the total, €22,000 is from the Structures at Risk Fund and a further €3,000 from the Built Heritage Investment Scheme.
The funding was confirmed by The Minister for Culture, Heritage, and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan, under the 2018 Structures at Risk Fund and the Built Heritage Investment Scheme 2018.
The funding has been welcomed by Deputy Martin Heydon, who made representations on behalf of the Parish.
"This funding will go towards the ongoing works to repair roof damage which occurred during Storm Ophelia," he said.
