April 'Bridge' on sale

The energy costs for Kilcullen residents and businesses are in the region of €8m a year, according to the lead story in the April edition of The Bridge, on sale from today in all the usual outlets, writes Brian Byrne.

The story notes how Kilcullen Community Action is spearheading a programme to make the town more sustainable in energy terms, with the help of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.

Other stories in the magazine, now in its 48th year, include an update on the Market Square project, the decade of the Dun Ailinne Interpretive Park, a look back at the sunny success of the Easter Market, and the visit of 6-year-old Garda Ceejay McArdle to the town.

There's a review of Billy Redmond's book, published in a limited edition at the turn of the year, some further advice on fundraising transparency for community groups from Orla O'Neill, as well as the articles from the many usual contributors along with features, news from schools and sport, and two views on the upcoming Referendum.

It's arguably the best €2 you can spend this month ...
