Annual CPC walk to Old Kilcullen

We were blessed with a beautifully bright, if freezing cold day as we undertook our annual walk to the Round Tower, in Old Kilcullen, writes Catherine Moynihan, Principal of Cross & Passion College.

On arrival, Sr Máire, Sr Carmel and our students led us in a short service of music and story. Together, students, staff and the sisters celebrated the history and heritage of Kilcullen, the legacy of the Cross and Passion Sisters and the link between ourselves in CPC and Lima in Peru.

Sr Clare Dawson, a past pupil of the College and a Cross and Passion Sister, works in the Santa Rosa Medical Centre in Lima, desperately in need of funding for the simplest of provisions. We were all shocked and humbled to realise that the €1,000 we can send to Sr Clare as a result of our walk, can do so much in a place so poor and so far away.

We hope that the proceeds from our sponsored walk will make some small difference to quality of lives of the people in Santa Rosa.
