Plans for parking, market square entrance

Kildare County Council is to contact business owners in Kilcullen's Lower Main Street to get their views on a draft parking layout, which includes a Disability Parking Bay, writes Brian Byrne.

The proposed layout includes a marked parallel parking space outside the Powder Room.

Some pavement improvements are also set from River Cafe to the Market Square area, which inter alia would stop traffic sweeping into the square area at high speed.

Cllr Sorcha O'Neill is also meeting with the town engineer to discuss costings for traffic calming options for Kilcullen, using LPT funds for 2018.

The proposals follow Cllr O'Neill raising the matters at the Naas MD of Kildare County Council.
