'Fab bunch' sign up for 'play with dancing'
The first rehearsals for the new performance concept being developed by Evelyn O’Sullivan and Anne O’Connell have 'gone very well', writes Brian Byrne.
According to Evelyn, the ‘play with dancing’ idea has attracted the kind of teenager participant that both had hoped for.
"We have a fab bunch of enthusiastic people aged from 13-17. About ten are from 5th year, three TY students, four Junior Cert, and the rest then from 1st and 2nd Years. We can't actually believe it has worked out so well."
While cautioning that they know there 'will be bumps along the way', both are very happy with things so far.
Evelyn is the director of Drama Dynamics in Kilcullen, and Anne is a teacher at Cross & Passion College.
Both worked together for the College’s TY Year production of ‘The 39 Steps’, directed by Evelyn and choreographed by Anne.
The new programme will result in a full production, just like ‘The 39 Steps’, and will be performed in the Moat Theatere in Naas next March.
