Credit Union warning on 'phishing' scam

Kildare Credit Union has warned members to be aware of a 'phishing' email scam that is designed to get their bank details and other information, writes Brian Byrne.

The scam is country wide, and is centred around an email to credit union members from 'creditunion@online.ie' or similar, noting a 'Payment Confirmation'.

The email asks the recipient to access a file from the WeTransfer  download site.

Anyone getting such emails should delete them. If in doubt, call 045 521928.
