JB wins bronze in world championships
Kilcullen Cycling Club's JB Murphy has won a bronze medal in the 2017 Junior Track Cycling World Championship, writes Brian Byrne.
He has been competing in Italy this week at the event, and today's performance in the Points race has more than made up for his 15th placing in yesterday's Scratch race.
The event was in Fassa Bortolo’s Velodrome, the only indoor velodrome in Italy, with nearly 300 athletes and 42 national teams from five continents.
Several members of Kilcullen Cycling Club are in Italy to cheer on JB, who won a Silver medal in the European Championships in Portugal in July.
