Fishing club clears river debris
Members of Kilcullen Trout & Salmon Anglers Association cleared some of the debris at the bridge yesterday, caused by a falling tree up along the valley last month.
The tidy up was in preparation for the 2017 Liffey Shield Competition which the Association is hosting on this Sunday 20 August. The competition is under the auspices of the Federation of Liffey Anglers Clubs and is a friendly get together to enable and forge new relationships and friendships between Liffey clubs and anglers and strengthen existing bonds.
Each participating club enters a team of four anglers. There is no entry fee, but clubs are asked for a donation and all monies collected will be donated to a local charity. Fishing will be on a catch and release basis. The clubs taking part in the event are Kilcullen Trout and Salmon, North Kildare Trout and Salmon, Dublin Trout, Clane Trout and Kilbride Anglers. Prize giving and refreshments will be served in Kilcullen Town Hall (Heritage Centre) after the competition.
Kilcullen Trout & Salmon Anglers Association would appreciate it if members of the public would refrain from water activities (fishing, swimming, etc) on Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm from Kilcullen Bridge to Carnalway Bridge.
