Upgrade to Community Centre kitchen
A significant upgrade to the kitchen in Kilcullen Community Centre means that hosted events there can offer a better refreshments service to guests, writes Brian Byrne.
It isn't designed for anything like full catering, but does offer a facility to prepare tea and coffee and serve baked treats and other snacks, as has been the case since the Centre was opened. Now, preparation and clearing up afterwards is a little easier.
"We have a new cooker, a new fridge, and a dishwasher," says Centre manager PJ Lydon. "New worktops and cupboards are other improvements."
The upgraded facility will be particularly appreciated by community groups who hold meetings in the Centre, and also at large events like the Parish Feis organised by the Landers family every year for Parish funds, which typically provides refreshments for up to 400 young dancers during the event.
