Get framed for the blooms on Friday night
Don’t forget to come along and get in the frame for the launch of Kilcullen in Bloom, on Friday night at 7.30pm, writes Brian Byrne.
All are welcome to the event, hosted jointly in The River Cafe by the new owner, Paul Treacy, and the Kilcullen Tidy Towns Group (pictured after their meeting last night).
The flowers programme this year has been extended to cover more of the town, and will include 150 window boxes and 30 hanging baskets.
Two contractors have been appointed to the project and it is planned that the flowers will be in place before the June Bank Holiday.
The cost this year is almost €7,500, and a number of businesses have already responded with contributions towards this. The usual street collection is also planned, for 13 May.
