REMINDER: Blood Clinic next week
The next Blood Donation Clinic in Kilcullen will be held on Wednesday 1 March, in Scoil Bhride, writes Brian Byrne.
This represents a change of location of the Clinic, which will be between 5pm-8.30pm.
Current hospital requirements of blood are running at 3,000 units a week, and the Irish Blood Transfusion Service says it is having difficulty meeting the demand.
"Patients always need out blood, and this need never stops regardless of what else is going on in the world," says IBTS Area Manager Miriam O'Neill. "Please help us to make the difference."
At some point in their lives, one in four people will need donated blood, but only one in 33 donate it.
