'Weather' disappears
OK, it's winter and the sun is scarce, writes Brian Byrne. But it has got even more scarce in Kilcullen with the disappearance of the weather mural from the corner of the Curragh Road.
The mural is one of several which were commissioned by Kilcullen Community Action during recent years to brighten up areas and was placed last summer.
It's a work by local artist Kieran Behan. If anyone has any ideas about whose collection it now resides, perhaps they might contact any member of KCA.
It's a disturbing matter, especially as KCA is currently considering the permanent placing of a number of cartoons by Ellie O'Toole in a public area. There's a long-standing tradition of public art in Kilcullen not being interfered with.
