Cleaning up our glass recycling act
The bottle recycling bank has become an unsightly place in recent times, writes Eoin Houlihan of Kilcullen Community Action. We need to keep it right if we are to continue to have the facility.
Some simple guidelines when recycling your glass:
1. As far as possible wash out your glass items
2. Remove any plastic lids, corks or screw caps and dispose in your black bin
3. Metal lids off glass jars can be recycled in your green bin
4. Bring home your boxes, plastic bags or any other containers you bring your glass down in. Please do not leave these at the recycling bank or put into the recycling bank.
If we all carry out these simple steps we will help keep Kilcullen tidy and reduce the work load of our volunteers who litter pick each Saturday morning.
We would like to thank Leinster Marts for very kindly providing the site for these glass recycling bins.
Let's make Kilcullen tidy together.
