Narraghmore Village Festival today

The Narraghmore Village Heritage Festival has been taking place today, Wednesday 28 December, writes Brian Byrne.

The event featured a vintage tractor and classic car Santa Run.

There are street events and entertainment, vintage displays, Irish dancing at the crossroads, and presentations by the Griese Valley Fishing Club, Ballytore Gun Club, and several other organisations.

The Narraghmore Pipe Band is celebrating its centenary, and there are also displays of coins, stamps, and local historical items in the village museum. Exhibitions of old agricultural machinery, some of it in use, as well as a play about 1916 by the Griese Players also attract interest.
