Vintage Rally cheque given to Irish Cancer Society
A cheque for €27,100 was presented to the Irish Cancer Society last night, the proceeds of the 14th Mac & Norman Vintage Rally held in August, writes Brian Byrne.
The money was handed over by organisers Ann Sully, Mac Sully, Norman Egar and and their committee to Brenda McCarthy and Mark Mellett of the ICS.
The figure this year brings to over €400,000 raised since the Rally was inaugurated.
Last night's handover took place in The Priory, Walls of Kilgowan, where Ann Sully thanked all those who helped to organise the Rally each year, the the hundreds of owners of vintage vehicles who take part in support. Norman Egar, who made the presentation speech, said it was a 'fantastic donation from the community'.
