Few tickets left for Moon & Sixpence concert for Maintain Hope
There are just 20 tickets left for next week's concert by The Moon & Sixpence, which will be held in Kilcullen on 16 November to raise funds for Maintain Hope, the Kenya orphanage charity set up by local man Gerry O'Donoghue, writes Brian Byrne.
The concert will take place in the Town Hall, and booking is at Berneys Chemists 045 481497.
"We need to upgrade the sanitation at Maintain Hope Children's Home to comply with new regulations," says Gerry O'Donoghue. "The proceeds of the concert will help with the cost of these works. We're already getting good bookings for the night, so anyone who wants to go should head for Berney Chemists, or phone them to book."
A similar concert last year for school was fully supported and provided exam fees for Maintain Hope students as well as other needs.
The band was set up in 1994 to raise funds for a number of charitable needs in a limited number of gigs each year. The late Des Byrne of Kilcullen was one of the founder members.
