Great local result for Big Blue Box Challenge

The recent Kilcullen fundraising events around the Big Blue Box fundraiser for the Irish Heart Foundation raised €1,800, writes Brian Byrne.

The cycling challenge event involved groups of riders travelling between 29 towns on routes related to the ‘Ireland’s Ancient East’ tourism region, and a number of Kilcullen people took part in the ride from Kilcullen to Athy. An inter-pubs ’10-second Cycle Challenge’ (below) raised a significant proportion of the total.

Bank of Ireland is matching all the funds raised, which means the Kilcullen contribution totals €3,600.

“It was absolutely fantastic and way more than we expected to raise at the start,” says Kilcullen’s Bank of Ireland Manager Jo McMahon. “I can’t thank those involved enough for the support for this very worthwhile cause.”
