Spring Clean Weekend starts today
The Kilcullen Spring Clean Weekend starts today, Friday, and runs through to Monday 9 May, organised by Kilcullen Tidy Towns (KCA), writes Brian Byrne.
Clubs, property owners, and businesses are being asked to do their own cleanups in or around that time, while KCA itself will do a 'rolling' clean of various street sections through Saturday.
This Saturday clean will begin at 10am, when KCA members will meet at four points and work inwards towards the town. These points are the Motorway Bridge at Nicholastown, the Sunnyhill Junction on the Curragh road, the Graveyard Junction on Mile Mill road, and the Link Entrance the Naas road. All volunteers will be welcomed.
It was suggested at a recent meeting of KCA that all the groups and individuals involved should be encouraged to take photographs of 'before and after', and these will be published, to show what shared community effort can achieve.
If clubs of groups need to have gathered littler removed, KCA can arrange this through Kildare County Council.
