KDA sculpture unveiling tomorrow
'The Magician', the sculpture to commemorate creativity and vision in Kilcullen, especially those involved with the Kilcullen Development Association, will be unveiled tomorrow at midday, writes Brian Byrne.
It will be carried out by Mrs Rita Nugent, wife of the late Paddy Nugent who was a founder member of KDA and innovator of the Non Stop Draw which funded its activities for almost two decades.
'The Magician' was commissioned by KDA and designed and sculpted by local artist Noel Scullion.
Irish TV will be covering the event, to which everybody in the community is welcome. The unveiling will be followed by a presentation in Kilcullen Heritage Centre, where John Martin will outline the history and achievements of KDA, which included bringing industry and affordable homes to Kilcullen.
