Computer and smartphones free tuition
A series of lessons on how to use computers, tablets and smartphones will begin in CPC on 6 April, writes Brian Byrne.
In the now annual programme, organised by 121digital and sponsored by the Department of Communications, Transition Year students will offer the course to adults from the locality on six days over a five-week period.
The one-to-one tuition is free, and those participating can choose the topics and course material and learn at their own pace.
Further information from 121digital.ie or phone 045 481524.
Certificates of course completion are awarded to learners and to tutors.
Over 1,400 learners have completed 121digital courses since 2010, in more than 40 schools, universities, libraries, community centres and youth clubs.
These learners were taught by more than 1,400 volunteer tutors who offered to share their digital skills.
