Medals appeal

An appeal has been made for the loan of 1916 medals for display in conjunction with the St Patrick's Day Parade, writes Brian Byrne.

John Brady says he already has commitments from six families who have such medals among their keepsakes.

"But I think there are probably more out there," he says. "There's a photo of Kildare volunteers around and I think there are more than 20 Kilcullen men in it."

The Parade this year is once again being organised by the Kilcullen Scouts, with a 1916 theme.
