The Annual Scoil Bhride Christmas Fair, organised by the Parents Association of the school, took place on Sunday 6th December 2015, writes Sinéad Forde. The fair took place in the newly renovated and extended school building and it was a huge success with a great turn out on the day!
The event kicked off at 12:30 with Vincent Fanning ensuring all who attended were in the Christmas spirit with festive music being played throughout the fair. The school choir provided everyone a chance to enjoy some carols and we would like to say a massive thank you to both Vincent, the teachers and of course all of the members of the choir!
Stalls on the day included a mixture of local businesses – cakes, arts and crafts, cosmetics, candles, jams, hampers, clothes to name but a few along with stalls presented by the Parents Association, including the most enjoyable cup of tea and coffee for visitors! Santa made an appearance in his new grotto to hear those all-important lists and was a great hit with the kids. A superb festive spirit was experienced by all who attended and some fantastic prizes were on offer through the raffle!
As always the aim of the fair is to raise funds for the school and once again a hugely successful outcome was achieved. This would not be possible without the local co-operation of our kind sponsors, of whom are listed below. We would like to publically acknowledge and thank all of our sponsors for the on-going support to the local school, without whose kind donations this event would not be possible. Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you the public, all parents, guardians, children, Ms Flanagan and all members of the school staff for your support which makes this annual fair a truly wonderful community event.
