Deputy urges 'use Local Link or lose it'
Fine Gael TD for Kildare South Martin Heydon has encouraged residents in South Kildare from Kilcullen through to Castledermot to make use of the new Local Link bus route that is now up and running.
After a strong local campaign the National Transport Authority has agreed to provide this additional service to make up for cuts in services by Bus Eireann and JJ Kavanagh.
The service runs from Naas to Carlow several times a day serving Castledermot, Moone, Timolin, Ballitore, Crookstown, Kilcullen, Carnalway and Two Mile House.
Social Welfare travel passes are accepted on the new route which has been designed to coincide with onward buses from Naas and Carlow.
The usage of the new bus route will be reviewed after six months and will only be continued based on usage, so people need to use it or lose it.
