Thrilling swimming for Community Games
The Kilcullen Community Games area swimming competition was held recently in the Curragh Swimming Pool, writes Papillon Rabbitte. Our young swimmers treated the full gallery to some thrilling races over the course of the evening.
Many thanks to the team at the Curragh for the use of the facilities. Well done to all our swimmers and best of luck in the County Finals at the end of the month.
The results are as follows. Girls U10 Freestyle —1st Alex Connors, 2nd Sinead Gordon, 3rd Abbey McNamara; Girls U10 Backstroke — 1st Keira Legg, 2nd Jenna Hegarty, 3rd Abbie Noone; Girls U12 Freestyle — 1st Nadya Dunne, 2nd Aideen Farrell; Certificates of Merit — Marysia Bowens, Sinead Moran.
Boys U8 Freestyle —1st Turlough Donnelly, 2nd Noah Mahon, 3rd Denis Romaniv; Boys U10 Freestyle — 1st Jamie Hargaden, 2nd Ruari Morgan, 3rd Sai McNab; Boys U10 Backstroke — 1st Tom Cronin, 2nd Ben Connors, 3rd Richard Bowens; Boys U14 Freestyle — 1st Nazar Romaniv; Certificates of Merit — Archie Galvin, Alexander Bowens and Jack Bradley.
The medal winners now go through to the county swimming final which is being held in Athy swimming pool. The girls competition will be held on Saturday 25th April and the boys competition on Sunday 26th April. Registration on both days will be at 1.30pm.
