Parish notes for this week
The Parish thanks all who contributed to the recent Crosscare Food Appeal, for which there was a wonderful response. The donated food items were collected during the week and will be distributed with those from other parishes to needy families across the Dublin Diocese.
The St Vincent de Paul Society Annual Christmas Collection will be held at Masses this weekend. It replaces the usual SHARE Collection.
The Parish Shop has Christmas Cards, Christmas Candles, Children’s Cribs, Christmas Books for Children, Calenders and Diaries for 2015, Christmas Mass Bouquets and more. The Shop is opem 10am-1pm Monday to Friday, also 2pm-4pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Come in and browse.
The annual Miscellany on Sunday will be hosted again this weekend in the Bermingham family home at Mooretown, Kilcullen, from 2pm. Music, drama and great chat between friends, along with a little seasonal refreshment. There's no admission fee and contributions in aid of Fr John Bermingham’s Mission in Mozambique can be dropped into a donatiuon box. Everybody is welcome to this famous open house afternoon.
There will be a Carol Service of nine Lessons and Christmas Carols in St John’s Church, Yellow Bog, on Friday 19 December, commencing at 7.45pm. Refreshments afterwards include mince pies and other seasonal goodies. All welcome.
The Parish Christmas Cards with Christmas Mass times and Christmas Dues envelopes are ready for delivery. We would love a few more helpers to deliver envelopes. If you have a little while to spare please drop into the Office or phone 045 480727.
The blessing of the SUAS Knitted Crib will be held in the Parish Centre after Mass on Tuesday morning. Refreshments with tea and mince pies will be served. All welcome.
A Christmas Carol Service on Sunday 21 December will take place at 3pm in Kilcullen Church. It will feature choirs from Gormanstown and Kilcullen, and students from Scoil Bhríde and Cross and Passion schools.
Eucharistic Adoration takes place in the Parish Centre on Thursdays from 10am-7pm, and also in the Parish Church after 9.30am Mass on weekdays.
