Thanks from the Pink Night
A big 'thank you' is expressed to all those who supported the recent 'Pink Night' in McTernans Bar, in aid of breast cancer research, writes Brian Byrne.
Some €800 was raised on the night, thanks to a great local support. "We only promoted it in-house," says McTernans proprietor Mary Masterson. "It was a really wonderful night."
Meantime, Mary and friends are hoping for a similar support for a Table Quiz on this Thursday night, 28 February, to raise funds for St Brigid's Hospice on The Curragh.
Vivian Clarke is organising this one, with a bunch of questions that are designed to snooker those who rely on Doctor Google and their smartphones on such occasions. He says that he has had an extraordinarily positive result in garnering spot prizes support. "They're just donating from everywhere," he told the Diary. "Businesses are being wonderfully generous, even coming to me when they have heard of the night from elsewhere."
The prizes include a brand new Kildare county GAA shirt bearing the Brady Family Ham sponsorship (Mary is pictured with it here), which will be auctioned on the night.
But going back to the Pink Night, Mary Masterson would like to acknowledge those businesses who supported that event, especially in such difficult times. They included Eilish Hairdressers, Paddy Power Bookmakers, Fallons Restaurant, Carry Out, Eye Candy, The Spout, Dunnes Stores, Twirl Boutique, Frill Kilcullen, Hazel & Tara, Bardons Pub, Burkes Chemists, HeadRush Hairdressers, Nolans Butchers, Jim Stafford, Il Fico Restaurant, Centra Kilcullen, and Fraser Oil.
If anybody has been left out of the honours list, they are also thanked, with apologies and appreciation.
