Shop for Christmas at Maintain Hope on Saturday

The Coffee Morning & Craft Fair in aid of Maintain Hope is on Saturday in the Town Hall Theatre from 10am-1pm, writes Esther Reddy.

The Craft Fair promotes so many local businesses and talented individuals. You'll meet Patricia Mc Donnell and Gabriel Berney with their beautiful and tasteful hand made crafts and gifts. Niamh O' Connor will be there with her unique hand made jewellery. Hilary Pallister will have her jams, preserves and chutneys while her friend Ann O'Connor will tempt us all with her cakes, puddings and tarts.

Elaine McGovern from Calverstown will show us her crafts and buntings which can be individualised to suit the customer. Nolans Butchers will be there spreading their warmth and Christmas cheer. You can pick up some lovely Christmas gifts from Berneys' Chemist. Local photographer Conor Williams will have samples of his remarkable work on display and for sale, while Sabina Reddy will have charming paintings to choose from.

Siobhán Murphy has the perfect gift for any lady, from hats to neck-pieces. You can pick up a book or a lucky dip from Julie O'Donoghue while Kitty Reade, with her daughter-in-law Mary, will tempt you with their beautiful knits and tapestries.

Hand made cards will be available from Bríd, or if you fancy hand crafts and drawings Eoin Talbot will be there to help. Your good health will be catered for by Patricia Mc Nally with her Aloe Vera products.

Young people are out in force with Cross & Passion College Enterprise Students Michael Egan and Bevan Murray while Brannoxtown School students Bróna Dooley and Rachel Egar will have their own crafts for children on sale.

You can have a coffee and a cake, a small donation would be appreciated. If you fancy your luck you can buy a raffle ticket and be in with a chance of winning a Cake from Armelle's bakery, a gift from Dave Clancy's, a voucher from the Cottonwood Tree, a gift from the Dresser Store, a hamper or chocolates.

It promises to be a lovely way to start the Christmas Season in Kilcullen, while promoting our local businesses and supporting the children in Shelter Children's Home in Ngong, Kenya.
