Canoe Club update
Congratulations to all Kilcullen Canoe Club paddlers who competed in recent events, especially to Oisin Farrell who competed in the Junior and u23 Canoe Slalom World Championships in July, and to those who completed the Wicklow Adventure Race in Glenmalure on the 27th July. Podium placings include:
• Carrick-on-Shannon on the 30th June – Michael O’Farrell and Lar O’Brien, 2nd and 3rd respectively in K1 Div 4; Eamon Moran, 3rd in men’s general purpose; Mary Fitzgerald, 1st in women’s general purpose; Tori Keogh, 1st in girl’s u16 general purpose.
• National Marathon Championships on the 14th and 15th July – Dave McDonnell, 3rd in K1 Div 3 / 4; Tori Keogh, 2nd in girl’s K1 u15; Maria Wilmott and Sonja Cassidy (Erne Paddlers CC), 1st in senior women’s K2; Tori Keogh and Kate McCarthy (Salmon Leap CC), 1st in girl’s u15 K2.
Thanks to everyone who also supported our fundraising race on the 8th July.
Kilcullen Canoe Club upcoming events include:

And finally, go n-éirí an t-ádh le Eoin Rheinisch, Hannah Craig and Andrej Jezerski who will be representing Ireland in Canoe Slalom (Eoin and Hannah), and Canoe Sprint (Andrej) at the London Olympics.
On the water training continues every weeknight from 7pm. Activities on offer include “Newbie” nights (Mondays and Tuesdays), Polo (Thursdays) and Slalom.
