How's about a Kilcullen 'Gathering'?

At any given time, in addition to the bulk of local viewers, the Diary is being read by people with an interest in Kilcullen from the US, Norway, the UK, Russia, France, Germany, Canada, Australia and Croatia, writes Brian Byrne, editor of A Kilcullen Diary.

We get people in many other countries looking in too, but the list would simply get too long.

However, with 'The Gathering 2013' now building up steam, it's maybe time that we got going on something like it in Kilcullen.

I first proposed something like this three years ago, and Billy Redmond in The Bridge also broached a similar idea some time before the Government took it on board.

Very simply, we have a lot of Kilcullenites from several generations scattered around the world. The Diary would like to hear from them over the next while, with a view to providing some sort of input into next year's national theme.

So, if you are away, or if you have somebody away, maybe you can get in touch with us. We'd like to talk to you, or to them, and tell the folks back here at home what you've been doing. Especially if you have been out of your home place for a considerable time.

Even if you can't come home for next year, tell us your story and we'll bring that home for you. Don't long finger it, though. Do it now.
