New traffic diversion on Athy Road

The traffic diversion on the R418, due to watermain laying from Athy to Old Kilcullen, will be changed from today, Wednesday, 23 May 2012.

The diversion will be moved north to Whitehall Cross and all southbound traffic will be diverted onto the R448 towards Crookstown and Ballitore.

Traffic for Calverstown, Kilrush, Kilmead and Ardscull will then be directed to turn right from the R448 at Kilgowan Crossroads, through Calverstown, and back to the R418 at Ballyshannon Crossroads.

Traffic for Athy should use the M9 or stay on the R448 and then use the N78 to enter Athy.

Traffic for Cutbush may continue to turn right at Whitehall Crossroads as usual, but no through traffic will be allowed on the R418.

This diversion will be in place for approximately three weeks.
