Kilcullen lad wins national gold at Community Games

A young Kilcullen boy won a gold medal at the HSE Community Games National Finals held last weekend at the Athlone Institute of Technology.

Leon Cullen (pictured centre above on the podium) took first place in the U12 Boys Art competition. It was his third appearance at the National Finals, where he had previously won a bronze.

Kilcullen was well represented at the National Finals, with six competitors on the Kildare team. They competed in U8, U10 and U12 Art and also in the U14 Talent and U12 Cross Country.

It is a fantastic achievement by all involved to reach the National Finals, as standards are extremely high and the events are very competitive. Congratulations to Leon on his great achievement and to all those who competed.
