New priest in Kilcullen

Kilcullen has a new priest from this weekend, Fr Martin Harte.

Introducing himself to parishioners at his first celebrations of mass here, he said he was originally from Co Leitrim but has served all his ministry in the Dublin area. He comes to Kilcullen from Kilmacud Parish, and will assist Fr Michael Murphy here.

"It is something different for me to come to a place like Kilcullen," he said. "But I have heard from other priests that they have been very happy here, and I expect I will be too."

Welcoming him, Fr Murphy said he was looking forward to the changes which Fr Harte's arrival will make to the parish.
