The gates, there they were, gone

When someone noticed that the gates of St Brigid's Cemetery were gone a couple of days ago, the word swept through Kilcullen that they had been stolen, possibly for meltdown.

But in fact they have been removed for cleaning and shotblasting, and will be re-installed soon.

Even as the Diary was at the scene to take a picture, people were coming to the cemetery having heard the rumour.
