Council official praised for playground help
The Kilcullen Playground Committee has expressed appreciation to Kildare County Council's Simon Wallace for his help over the years it has taken to get the facility in place, writes Brian Byrne.
Expected to be completed in three weeks' time, the playground has been funded substantially by the Council, as well as by the Kildare Leader Partnership and locally-raised money.
Simon Wallace's assistance was discussed at a recent meeting of Kilcullen Community Action, which he attended to give a report on where the project was at.
The meeting considered a proposal that KCA would manage the opening and closing of the facility on a voluntary basis, as well as monitoring the playground equipment for safety. Training would be given to those involved.
Ray Kelly and JJ Warren volunteered to take on the work.
